Single Site Swansea Pinot Noir
Wine
Dalrymple Single Site Swansea Pinot Noir draws from a single vineyard at Swansea on the south-east coast of Tasmania. It overlooks Great Oyster Bay towards the Freycinet Peninsula.
The vineyard, planted to an equal mix of MV6 and 115 clones, is situated on a gentle northern slope to allow the vines to capture maximum sun during the growing season. All the fruit is hand harvested.
A small portion of whole bunch fruit is tipped into the bottom of small open fermenters, with the balanced destemmed and added on top. The ferments receive gentle plunging twice daily.
The wine is drained, pressed and racked to French oak barriques, around one third new. It undergoes natural malolactic fermentation during 10 months in barrel.
Deep crimson, Dalrymple Single Site Swansea Pinot Noir has rich texture giving depth to vibrant dark fruits, plush tannins and fine oak spice. Cellaring potential is 10 years.
